My favourite thing about my friends like [Tavi Gevinson] or [Amandla Stenberg] is that they make room for other girls. They create space for other people, they make space for me, they create space for each other and there’s no sense of competition within what they are doing. You can find that a lot in the business, because girls are taught to be so competitive with each other, but it’s incredible to have found this safe haven of girls who aren’t that way. They want each other to succeed because they realise that when one girl makes it, we all do.
